Pot Luck Dinner
Immediately following the Bedlington Breed Standard Seminar, 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Kentucky Fair & Exposition Center parking lot.
Come and discuss the activities of the day. Meet new friends, see old friends. Break some bread with friends before the shows begin.
$5 per person. It will take place in Laurie Friesen's and others' motor homes, so ask around for where they are parked.
The Louisville Pot Luck started out with a few people arriving at the shows early and getting together for a cookout in the RV
parking area. Last year it evolved into a great "get together" inside the Expo Center in the grooming area with nearly 30 people.
We even fed the Expo Center Security guards! What we didn't know was that we were not suppose to bring food into the Expo Center --
maybe feeding the security guards worked out in our favor!
So this year we are planning the Pot Luck back in the RV parking area immediately following the seminars on March 17.
There is a nice grassy area that we can use as well as the parking lot under our RV canopies in case of rain.
Here is how the Pot Luck works - we ask those coming to pot luck to please bring notable food items from their home state.
For instance, Wayne and Laurie Friesen will be bringing Iowa Beef hamburgers, enough to feed everyone. Pam Mattke and Bill Austin
bring several varieties of Wisconson Cheese for the burgers along with crackers as an appetizer. Last year Sally Schill brought
the hamburger buns from a great local Ohio bakery, and we hope she will do it again! Others brought side dishes, pasta salads,
potato chips, and desserts. The $5 per person fee will offset the cost of condiments, beverages, plates, napkins, and other food
items, that will be provided. Just pay your $5 upon arrival. Please note that you do not have to bring anything to join in on the
fun, but we appreciate it if you do. We know it is hard to bring something if you a not driving to the shows.
If you plan to attend, please contact Laurie Friesen by phone or email, details below, so we know how many people to expect.
And if you can bring food to the pot luck, let Laurie know what you plan on bringing so she can organize the menu. Those of us in
the RV area will bring as many folding chairs as we can, but if you are able to bring a chair, that would be helpful. We also use
grooming tables to set the food on.
Also, Bedlingtons are welcome! You can bring your dogs along with a crate or x-pen. If they prefer to stay in your car, that's
fine too. And if they like to play with others, I am sure we can join some x-pens together for some play time.
Hope to see everyone there!
